I am living a new unasked for life, after being widowed last year. . I worked for about 10 years at two small sister newspapers, starting out as a "cub" reporter when I was 50 years old, and eventually becoming editor. With the pandemic, the papers shut down, but were rescued by the development corporation and merged. It wasn't the same without my office "family" and the guidance of an actual journalist. I also didn't want to stay in a big 110-year-old house by myself. It was too much house and needed too many repairs for me to handle. So I found a 2-bedroom ranch house that doesn't need nearly as many repairs in my old hometown and I moved I am now "retired" while I navigate my new reality.
